Winmalee High

Winmalee High are very proud of our reputation as a quality comprehensive high school. We have made an effort to integrate sustainable practices throughout the school and curriculum. Since joining Low Carbon Living Blue Mountains, all our food and beverage packaging used by the canteen and hospitality students is now biodegradable. ​We have established green spaces throughout the school to cool spaces during the summer months. Shades have been added to sun exposed windows to reduce the cost of air conditioning. We have installed a 6.6kW solar photovoltaic array, and purchased 6% Green Power. We also recycle paper and cardboard, and have recently started to recycle drink containers. We have three chilled bubblers/bottle filling stations that are very popular with the students.

The school implements Positive Education focusing on building resilient learners in conjunction with Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), taking pride in being safe, respectful learners. Relationships with our feeder schools and partnerships between staff, students, parents and the community are highly valued. 

We have a strong focus on developing the whole child through a broad range of co-curricular opportunities including academic, sporting, visual, creative and performing arts, leadership, cultural and community programs.

Our strong values system enables the development of responsible, confident and well balanced individuals who are great citizens with a strong sense of community. The dedication and commitment of our teaching staff has supported students in achieving strong academic success.
