14 Lovel St
A home away from home

Accommodation

14 Lovel St, Katoomba 2780, Blue Mountains , Australia

The original guesthouse, "Fairmount", was built circa 1913 and remained in the same family for generations.

For 30 years, 14 Lovel St was known as No14 Backpackers Hostel, and the house was restored and extended by the previous owner.

Now known as 14 Lovel Street the next chapter began on 6 October 2017 for proud new owners, Annette & Gavin.

We are super excited to be the next caretakers of this historic guesthouse, and are lucky to have Mandy and Kym who stayed on to help care for our guests.

We include a simple breakfast of cereal and instant coffee in our price.

We aim to minimise our carbon footprint in this beautiful world heritage area.

We use Bendigo Bank and Red Energy to ensure we and our guests are not funding fossil fuel projects. Cardboard, glass, metal and hard and soft plastics are recycled.

Plastic bin liners are only used in the main living areas. Water is solar and gas heated. Fans cool rooms on the warmer nights, with central heating throughout and our fireplace in the living room for cooler nights.

The shared kitchen has gas stovetops, oven, microwave oven, and everything you need to prepare a delicious meal.

The amazing Blue Mountains Food Coop in only a 10-15min walk, as well as an array of local Galleries, coffe shops, restaurants and bars.
